Medical Bill Tax Rebate
Whenever you purchase medicines for self/ spouse/ children/dependents you can claim the same as tax exemption. There is no restrictions in submitting the bill.
Eligibility for Medical Bill Tax Rebate
This rebate is applicable for salaried employees, where they have spent to purchase medicines from medical shops even for 1paise till 15,000/-. There is no requirement of doctor prescription for submitting these bills.
Maximum deduction limit under Medical Bill Rebate
The actual expense or Rs. 15,000 whichever is lesser can be claimed for income tax deduction. This will not be covered under any category since it is applicable only for salaried employees.
How to get 80DDB tax benefit
You can submit the medical bills which you have to submit them to your HR in the relevant year to get this deduction on salary TDS or if you miss it you can still put this amount under Chapter VI-A deductions in ITR form in the section Income & Deductions.
